Another thing that has really helped me, pick up a book that talks about things you're interested in, it might be a programming language or a concept like Databases or Networking and try to have a sense of the things you're supposed to know. You can go on to read the book or you can watch videos on youtube if that suits you better but at least you'd have a direction.
