First, the unavoidable *and* highly valuable basics; being on time, openness to all you meet, politeness (not to be mistaken for being subservient) and eagerness to experience. You show you're there to do stuff. Then, aviation organizations do focus a lot on processes, standards, methods. Obviously to make sure top quality products or services leave the factory or hangar. And for the new and un-informed, this might feel a bit...slow or even boring. So, my encouragement for you; add your value of creativeness, cleverness, freshness and ask your questions clear and confident!

First read the maintenance manual section before starting to work on what section. Then while working with or helping the mechanic as questions by bringing up the maintenance manual. If the maintenance person see you are really trying to learn they will be more willing to explain how and why they are doing what they are doing. Learning starts with you.

I've found the best networking to start here on LinkedIn. There are so many in aviation who wish to mentor, but don't know where to start. Reaching out with genuine questions is the best way to begin a relationship. It's not about finding a job. It's about finding a guide who will help you define what you want in this career.

Networking requires active listening skills. You can't drone on and on about yourself. Ask relevant questions, take mental notes and look back at your interactions. Which were productive and which were counterproductive.

There are no stupid questions. If you keep quiet, you will only be hurting your own growth. If you need more information or a deeper perspective, ask the person if they would be open to engaging with you on a one on one.

One of the most dangerous things we can do in this industry is act or believe as if we know everything. Being modest and asking questions is one of the strongest traits that those new to the industry can have. This applies even to the most seasoned veterans. Cultivating this habit from the beginning will allow you to sharpen your tools as a professional.

I enjoy working with inquisitive interns. Asking effective questions demonstrates their ability to think critically. A good framework to use is: - Purpose: Understand your goal and target your audience. - Structure: Start with open-ended questions, follow with closed-ended ones, and use probing questions. - Clarity: Be specific and concise. Use simple language. - Context: Provide background and relate to prior knowledge. - Neutrality: Avoid leading questions and stay objective. - Engagement: Encourage dialogue and be patient. - Follow-Up: Listen actively and ask clarifying questions. This approach ensures your questions are effective and insightful.

Tengo que recibir instrucciones de torre de control para encender las luces externas. Que velocidad de taxeo debo tener hasta llegar a la cabecera de pista. En el ascenso, despegue del Aeropuerto Internacional Jorge Chávez, en qué momento debo comunicarme con torre de control.

An aircraft in the air is the easy part. Getting it there is where the real work lies. An internship is a great place to learn the behind the scenes action that happens every day in order to make commercial and private aviation happen. It may not seem glamorous, but it's how everyone contributes to the operation.

La Aviación es resistente emocional, hay casos de personas que han iniciado en Aviación siendo bastante adultos. Personalmente inicié mis saltos de paracaidismo a mis 22 a?os, que emocionantes recuerdos, sin embargo mi carrera de Piloto, inicié a mis 34 a?os de edad, recién empecé a volar en Cessna 152 a mis 44 a?os con mucha emoción, ahora a mis 54 a?os estoy reiniciando mi carrera de Piloto, no me detendré hasta llegar a ser piloto TLA para poder ejercer en Perú o el extranjero, alguna aerolínea que me reciba, muy al margen de mi edad, vale mi Acto Médico. Porque la Aviación es pasión, es sacrificio, saber esperar, eso es resistencia mental, emocional.

I was given an golden opportunity to be a part of a low cost start up airline! My expertise were limited to operations, and here I was multitasking doing everything under the sun (even made the occasional coffee to the team!) One key strategy that propelled me forward was my eagerness to volunteer for any task that came my way, including the seemingly daunting task of taking meeting minutes. However, this seemingly mundane duty provided invaluable firsthand insights that were unavailable to anyone else. Naturally, I've kept this treasure trove of knowledge close to the chest, using it discreetly to inform my decision-making process.

Ser una persona de buen corazón, ayudar de manera incondicional al prójimo, es tener calidad humana. Personas así hacen tanta falta a mi país Perú, también a toda Latinoamérica. Si alguien sabe bastante, entonces hay que aprender a compartir. En Aviación por ejemplo aclarando que un avión debe estar bien chequeado externa e internamente todas sus partes, como luces de navegación, tren de aterrizaje, tanques de combustible, libre de obstáculos los tubos Pitot, esos conocimientos son importantes, se deben difundir al personal que recién inician en Aviación.

Don't be shy to step outside of your job description (within reason). In other words, find ways that you may be able to help your organization other than your own duties. Internships are typically designed in aviation to be a lighter workload to promote interests and curiosity. Ask questions. See if there are other ways you could help.
