Risk assessment of the activity we do is corner stone of ISO 45001:2018. It helps evaluate all activities major or minor fr the point of view of its severity and probability . obviously you do not want one incident (having small severity) to happen since it is a irritating & reduce morale of our people but then you definitely do not want major severity incident to happen since it's effect could be devastating for our own work force and rhat of our neighbour's detail understanding of what we do and how it can impact may be first step to reducing severity of the most severe incidents as we can then take targets and focus our energy to it . having done risk assessment it must be shared with all our team members for their awareness.

I am of the opinion that for reducing hazards , PpE is not the main area of focus since we have to focus on elimination, reduction, substitution and admin control before focusing on PPE. During the design phase only, such area require to be focused for bringing inherent safety to work place. however having done all that mentioned above, PPE is the front line weapons and must be used as per desired requirement. One has to see whether PPE is available to last person working on it. If he is working for contractor , whose responsibilities is it to provide these PpE? Whether quality of PPE adequate ? Whether condition of PPE wearable ? & whether discipline is maintained in wearing them as needed ? all angles require review & implementation

Training, the best way to share your message. Train new employees so they know what is expected of them. Train employees when they start a new task, this assists with hazard identification. Conduct relevant annual refresher training, share new material, update emergency response plans. Have your trainees go through hands on activities that reinforce the material. The last SDS annual training I conducted was giving an SDS to a group of five and have them find 13 specific items on their SDS and the present to the group their findings.

I am of the view that health programs are &should be integral party of safety program . Why because effect of our work place surrounding ( noise, dust, light) put a irreversible impact on health of our workforce & not only is this moral responsibility to ensure good health of all who work @our place but it is legal requirements to comply to yearly health check ups. For the work place where severity of hazards may not be that high , one can turn focus to ergonomic of the place (like type of chairs being used &negative Impact it brings to spine in long term ). Worker having irreversible effect like effect on hearing efficiency may swiftly be given less strenuous work and like wise for all employees ,.contract or our own
