"Making eye contact"....I would strongly advise on understanding the cultural environment of the organisation as a fundamental pre-requisite before even attending the interview. Some cultures in the West value eye contact or other practices which depicts assertiveness, attention, confidence from a West perspective. Managing nerves is a critical part of the interview and it manifest the confidence levels of the candidates. Below are some tips to follow 1. Be authentic in what you are sharing with the interviewers. Avoid glossy conversations 2. Before your response, process your answer in your brain, if needed scribble the points on your notepad and start your response 3. Ensure you understand the question well, before you respond. My biggest recommendation during any panel is to understand that, 1) normally the seniority level is lateral, so you don't need to sell yourself as you would to a manager. I believe, the only way you can master a panel interview is by being authentic and having a full grasp of the subject. I can rely my personal story when I cleared UPSC , and ISI entrance interview. Both panel one of 5 eminent professors and another of 8 IAS officers. Fantastic experience, both- I feel what helped me clear were being authentic and understanding of technical by the first principal. As luck would gave it , two panel members argued between themselves ( not sure if it was staged or real) and hence you have to take a stand, and run the risk of upsetting the other. How do you articulate in a manner that the other person is convinced, is the key. Also, if I may add, going with senior interviewer (some suggests) may not help.

While dealing with panel interview you have to have clear understanding of the subject and you know which role and why you have applied and Avoid making comments that could be taken out of context in a negative way by anyone, such as remarks about race, sex, religion, gender, politics or similar topics. Do not interrupt a panel member under any circumstances. They are in charge of the interview and you are their guest…

Be yourself, talk clearly, use eye contact. Know when to say things and when to say things. Your physical presence and charisma are both being evaluated in addition to the content you are providing and your narrative. Also you're being hired to come help solve a problem. You need to stand out in various ways from the other applicants. Know your worth and be confident in coming across as the right person for the job. You should be able to share some examples to back your responses and backup examples in case you're asked to share examples of other scenarios. Of course the importance of having some positive or sensible questions to asked when given the opportunity to do so will make a difference. Prepare, make yourself comfortable without fear.
