Attend Events: Face-to-face interactions are vital. Go in with clear goals and follow up with new contacts afterward. Trust comes from consistency, openness and knowledge. Be authentic, demonstrate your authority. Provide solutions up front. Instead of selling everything, decide what you can afford to give. Usually it is simple, what you give is the first step. Some of those who take you up on the first step will more likely follow through to the next step. Or ask advice, or recommend you to a friend. Your network will build the more you demonstrate you are a resource, as this is the key to building trust. Most tend to reciprocate.

Offer Value Upfront: Whenever I meet someone new, I ask myself, "How can I help them?" This could be as simple as offering insights from my journey or connecting them to someone in my network who can solve their problem. Giving value without expecting anything in return is the fastest way to build meaningful connections.

You should always prepare a presentation aimed at your audience, not your product or service. A presentation is all about giving the audience what they want. When you know what your audience wants you can deliver. However there is only so much you can present and so I like to offer additional information with some exclusivity. This will also demonstrate your authority in the field too. Typically I will provide tailored information and make it clear I am given this information out to those who attended this presentation. The idea is to create something that is special and a reward for attending your event that will help to make them feel rewarded, preferably instantly. Many will reciprocate if you make an offer.

I comment on their posts, share thoughtful responses, and use DMs to have deeper conversations. This turns followers into real connections. Consistency here is key — engaging regularly makes you top of mind for future opportunities.

I regularly post on or around my topic, I rarely sell from posting. I may suggest people might like to visit my website, and any offer made will be further information related to my topic of authority, that will be relayed in the post. I will post a topic I thin the audience may enjoy. The purpose of the post is to test the market to see if a response is achieved. I cannot read or dictate to the market, so I never know in advance what will work. However, when you have tested a range of related ideas, you will build a picture of what works. You can expand your engagement when you know what works with paid media placement. Finally your engagement must vary, as otherwise you are easily passed over.
