I have found that the art of multitasking has become more of a norm than an exception. It gives “jack of all trades, master of none” effect. Looking at what this age old adage is saying, it’s not positive. Sure one can have several things going on simultaneously, but pertinent information can be missed or overlooked and that can yield to mistakes. It can also lead to missed deadlines, sloppy or erroneous work product. Actively listening is crucial to understand what is expected and what the concerns of others are.

You can lose your audience in length and ambiguity. “Land the plane…..” I often say this to people who are not concisely conveying their thoughts. Further, say what you mean - respectively - and mean what you say. It doesn’t take all day to do anything. Dragged out is dragged under.
