Whenever I've sat down with teams to discuss which technology should be deployed, performance, features and cost were the main issues everyone brought up. What was rarely talked about is how a new tool or service would work with our existing environment. There is no stand-alone technology for everything network teams do on a daily basis. When selecting any technology, ask yourself the following: - What is its main purpose? - What does it *not* do? - What systems are in place that do what the selected technology doesn't? - How can we make them all interface to have a better experience (both for users and the IT teams) from the compounded technologies, rather than each individual one.

I have seen people and company invest in solutions and will not utilise its features, or will not configure it for the right use and they believe that as they are using the solution it will protect their asset.

Identity First security is key these days. Bad Actors usually just login using phishing. AI makes such attacks even more effective. So if you are not monitoring your identity systems and watching closely for attacks, you are missing a primary attack vector to your system. It is so hard to detect when they have a successful login. My recommendation is to support efforts to eliminate passwords and require phishing-resistant MFA as long as you are using passwords.

In my opinion, this is the most important issue in network security. And in many cases, it has been seen that despite the use of security equipment such as Firewall, WAF and etc , Many incidents have occurred due to the negligence of the user. So user training is very important.

Training users constantly is important to keep cyber-attacks away from the company. In my experience, it's beneficial to encourage users to approach IT if they notice anything unusual or unfamiliar. This will help you to act fast and stop any threat before it′s start.
