But its very crucial to be consciously observing every movement and questioning yourself to soak it within. Also its not necessary we have to exactly do the same, we can think of some imagination and crazy ideas to integrate into the real action. This is what I think and do. Sometimes its also important to make a note in your phone about something strange you see. Because our conscious memory is weak. You'll forget things. So better note it down.

I feel the importance of sketching in 3D animation is undervalued. Life drawing and gesture drawing helps you understand posing and the structure behind that posing. Things like line of action and balance and dynamic 3 dimensional posing becomes that much stronger. Once that is set in your mind, posing it jn 3d becomes really easy. Also from a future growth stand point, if one aspires to be an animation supervisor, sketching will come in very handy for giving drawovers. Look around and you'll notice 'most' of the top animators can sketch decently.

This is not really mandatory as a 3d animator but it would definitely help to improve animation skills a lot if you do it consistently. Carrying a small notepad would also work as book might not be too handy everywhere. As I said earlier, create a mental library and we put our ideas on paper, we actually remember it more because of repetition. You don't need to draw a beautiful picture always, try creating stick figures which are like just drawing lines as characters. Hope you would have seen some cartoon animations using strokes, that is exactly stick figure. You can also add some note if you are connecting some idea with that pose or thought so that you can go through sometime again and recollect it.

Settings boundaries is very important because the more time you consume, actually the more confused you'll become. Actions need to have boundaries. This actually puts our mind at work and it starts thinking super fast to deliver you what you asked for. You can do a short experiment, ask someone to write goals in 5 minutes and ask someone to write it in 1 hour. You'll be surprised to see that the person taking one our would just wander to think what should he/write in that time. The less time ones would do better. Guaranteed! So set boundaries.
