One thing I have found helpful is having a road map that has at least three different paths towards the goal. Maintaining mission centered goals and envisioning different paths to achieve them, allows for flexibility and preparation for possible changes along the way. This also allows for innovation to imagine new ways to work and operate as a nonprofit. Leaders who can be flexible in the face of change have employees who can trust the process and have confidence in still achieving the goal. There’s less stress and more grit when pressure is felt by everyone.
