Learning from failures and progressing as an e-learning practitioner involves reflection, adaptation, and continuous improvement. When faced with setbacks, analyze what went wrong and identify the root causes. Use this information to make necessary adjustments to your teaching strategies and course design. Seek feedback from students and peers to gain different perspectives and insights. Stay updated with the latest e-learning trends and technologies by attending webinars, workshops, and courses. Implement new techniques and tools, and be open to experimenting with different approaches. Embrace a growth mindset, viewing failures as opportunities to learn and grow, ultimately enhancing your effectiveness as an e-learning practitioner.

Unsuccessful projects will come if you are in the business. Accept it before you get out of bed. We cannot control every aspect and variable of the business - someone makes a promise, gets out of the game you are the one delivering. It's part of reality, get ready, try to prevent this as much as you can. But you have to be positive, believe in your experience and talent. As you grow in project complexity and sophistication you will find it is harder to be excellent in the first iteration. Yeah, it is a long way to the top if you want to rock and roll.

Professionals in the e-learning field need to be genuinely passionate about education and understand the impact their work has directly with students. Therefore, the main advice I share is to never remove the student from the center of any action taken for your educational project or product. Listening to the student, analyzing their behavior and performance should help you think of solutions that solve real problems of your target audience.

Mistakes is not just another word, rather it is the creation of the entire mankind. The difference between Adam and Satan was only how they reacted to their mistake. One embraced it while the other remained arrogant over it. Life is just a journey where the clock only ticks forward. The only route to success is moving forward with perseverance and commitment to act. Thus, in my point of view, embracing your mistakes is crucial toward living and not existing. In order to be human, we have to become human. Look at ourselves with soft eyes hoping for the best to come our way, attracting positive energy and generating creativity.

One of the things I have found helpful is to break the loop of 8. One can never get a different result with the same ingredients. To improvise the recipe, one’s got to alter the ingredients till the desired result is achieved. Thus, reflection on the process is far greater than the product itself. As it allows one to avoid entering the vicious circle of pattern. One can not condition oneself to failure, rather embody a growth-mindset where mistake is the first step, and reflection the second.

Life is nothing more than perspective. To avoid subconscious bias, self bias, or inherent bias, it is critical to seek feedback. This allows learners to view things from an eagles eye and work progressively towards achieving the desired results. Not receiving feedback or being close minded towards both positive and negative criticism leads to delayed success. Recognizing circle of influence, concern and control facilitates social emotional learning and provides a progressive approach on ladder of Maslow Hierarchy. As a result, feedback is part of the process without which the product is not visible.

The best feedback in my experience, comes from people that is out of the production and delivery cycle. On unsuccessful projects, let it rest a little. 2 or 3 moths after the project is closed, initiate a feedback cycle with people that you know that can really contribute in good faith mode. Tell the complete story, open your heart and listen carefully from people that were not affected by deadlines or quality, design or delivery issues. Be opened as much as you can, it is very hard but one of the most importante experiences you may have.

Ask for feedback. Many instructors expect students to come and give a 3 paragraph long explanation on why they didn’t like the course. Proactively seek feedback from others, whether it’s other instructors or students. If you’re approaching students, give them some benefits such as early access to your next course. If it’s an online instructor, make sure to return back the favour, or take the initiative and give him some feedback yourself before you go asking.
