Instead of saying "you did a good job", specify what exactly was done well. For example: "Your client presentation was excellent, you demonstrated mastery of the topic and answered questions clearly. Instead of judging the person, focus on their specific actions and behaviors. For example, instead of saying "you are disorganized," say, "I noticed you missed the report deadline." Illustrate your comments with real-life examples of what you observed. This helps make the feedback more tangible and understandable.

I totally agree with the recommendation to ask for clarity and do it with curiosity rather than defensiveness. Also, I would recommend asking for specific examples that showcase the feedback provided. It will help you understand the feedback better and make it more specific rather than general. Sometimes managers use one event to conclude about your overall behavior. Talking about a particular example may impact your manager's perspective on your behavior.

Acredito que após receber um feedback, n?o deve restar dúvida acerca dele. Toda e qualquer dúvida deve ser questionada de forma respeitosa. Caso n?o seja possível e ainda fiquem pontos obscuros, é possível manter um registro desses retornos e dos pontos que foram abordados e ainda que esse registro chegue a conhecimento de quem forneceu o feedback para que o mesmo também fa?a seus apontamentos caso necessário. Isso torna a comunica??o mais clara e eficaz.

To address vague feedback, ask the provider to describe her/his expectations in the discussed matter. Ask her/him to explain it using behavior rather than slogans. Each of us has her/his interpretation of slogans. Describing them using behavior allows you to understand the expectations fully.
