Je pars de la question "Comment allons-nous faire pour bien nous entendre et bien travailler cette année?" et je fais le jeu du post it. Chaque élève vient coller au tableau son idée. En général ils connaissent bien les règles... Ensuite, on les trie: bien nous entendre / bien travailler et on les illustre. Elles sont affichées et on y revient régulièrement (Est ce que nous avons bien appliqué cette règle aujourd'hui? Il y a trop d'élèves qui ne la respectent pas, comment pourrions nous faire?...). Ce seront nos grandes lignes directrices de l'année. Cela ne m'empêche pas d'avoir de mon c?té des exigences parfois plus précises.

Les mauvais comportements peuvent être désappris par le renforcement positif. Les études montrent que nous sommes plus sensibles aux récompenses qu'aux punitions (qui ne doivent toutefois pas être exclues). Le renforcement positif peut s'appliquer sur un élève: il faut déjà cibler quel est le besoin de l'élève (besoin d'attention) et quelle récompense pourrait l'atteindre. La récompense doit être donnée en fonction d'une attitude/un effort clairement défini; elle ne doit pas être trop fréquente. Le cas le plus simple c'est quand l'enfant conna?t le bon comportement à adopter mais le fait rarement. Le fait de le récompenser quand il y arrive va l'inciter à le faire de plus en plus souvent jusqu'à ce que cela soit devenu une habitude.

Les conflits qui dégénèrent proviennent quasiment toujours d'un manque de communication et d'une mauvaise gestion des émotions. Il faut donc donner des outils aux élèves pour savoir comment s'apaiser puis comment discuter. Avec les plus petits, il est possible d'utiliser les messages clairs, qui donnent des formules introductrices (Tu m'as fait ?a, j'ai ressenti ?a...). Avec des élèves un peu plus grands, il est possible d'avoir une analyse réflexive sur un conflit, voir les différents paliers et la gradation jusqu'à ce que la violence éclate. Pourquoi? A quel moment aurait-il fallu prendre une autre direction? Il faut comprendre les raisons de chacun et trouver une solution "gagnant gagnant". Cela nécessite plusieurs cours.
