Finding gaps in content, understanding the client (students), and selecting the appropriate tools and resources while willing to admit what goes wrong takes humility, but it allows for change that impacts and lasts.

Active recall and spaced repetition were not popular terms over a decade ago and still lots of students are not aware of how they can use it. In its simplest terms it can be changing notes or sections of information into questions and answers. This means learning can be changed from a passive experience into an active one.

I believe students' needs particularly mental health have changed dramatically. A lot of students started their educational journey during remote online classes. This meant they couldn't experience a "normal" classroom environment. I think lots of students remain to have such education related anxieties, despite lockdowns being a thing of the past. As staff, we should try and be more empathetic towards such students and seek the correct support that they can access.
