While working on analytics projects, there are multiple avenues to arrive at answers. Often first few approaches are not the best. It immensly helps if team members can present few initial solutions to managers as a starting point for any discussion. These solutions and ideas need to be critically thought through (e.g., using SWOT) and they help with: Saving time by narrowing down a few initially obvious but unimplementable ideas Providing direction to discussions, helping to converge on a more realistic solution Some team members may hesitate to share ideas for fear of rejection. It is manager or boss' role to foster an environment of open communication and encourage juniors to share initial, even if those are half-baked.

I see why this important when presenting as an analyst. What we don’t want to do is merely highlight problems. Though “understanding the problem” is key in any engineering problem offering any explanation to why the problem exists even if it is outside of our domain expertise is proactively engaging in being part of the solution. By consistently delivering on time and ensuring my insights are concise yet impactful.Also I believe in proactive communication ,if additional time is needed for a thorough analysis, I make it a point to notify stakeholders early on, presenting a clear rationale and adjusted timeline. If I had felt like my progress in providing some results behind time I would make efforts to report “un official” results emphasizing that the analysis report should be considered an “educated guess”. This does two things. 1) allows other teams to continue work with the knowledge that some contingencies for change once final analysis is compete. 2) allows us to deliver some knowledge while allowing necessary space for future development.

Sometimes, you need to consider that you won't always be able to perfectly execute your work, and that's completely okay. It's important to know your limits, take a break, and restart your work rather than burning yourself out. It won't do any good for you or your manager. Make sure you prioritize your mental and physical health while maintaining your work relationships. Both aspects should be equally important in your life.

Every stakeholder is unique. Try to gauge the work pattern. If you’re in Data N Analytics then always analyse the data rather than just presenting data. Always showcase a summary report before it’s asked. Anticipate needs and be proactive- it comes with experience honestly but who doesn’t like to have reports/ statuses / communication without being asked. Have open conversations with your manager. Always be in a position to let your issues be addressed n resolved only by your manager. A healthy manager relationship is the one that shapes into mentor - mentee at the end. Trust your manager for your growth. Be to the point in your interactions and present solutions to problems.

Try to use the data to tell a compelling story. It may take time to conquer the art of data storytelling but once you do, there’s no arguing with data!
