It's very helpful if you write your questions and thoughts about current job/tasks and have them ready during 1-on-1 sessions. Think of it from their perspective: you know yourself better than anyone, so you can showcase your strong sides and achievements to let them suggest the best way to apply it next time something will come up. They know their business, you know yourself. Let them know you more to make work as effective as possible. This is the best way to align your work with their vision, and develop yourself in a way you want to professionally grow.
