Here's how you can foster innovation in students' career paths in higher education.

It is not wrong to say that you should always be curious in research. You should always be eager to know and learn new things and explore different opportunities. You have to be confident and fearless to take risks and then only you can progress. The students should always be ready to take the challenges and device ways to tackle the same. Often proper discussions among groups leads to several innovative ideas which can help the students. The students should not limit their ideas to books and classrooms.

As a lecturer with 25 years of teaching experience in the field of media and communication, I believe that a lecturer, in order to be an effective lecturer, is not enough just to be smart and skillful in teaching. Lecturers must also be able to convince students that they teach wholeheartedly, passionately and full of love. This must be clearly visible in front of his students. Teaching is not a transfer of knowledge and skills but how he can make students really feel "bewitched" and fascinated by the subject he/she is studying.

The freedom to explore and the acknowledgment that success is not guaranteed, nudging learners that attitudes matter, reminding them that Edison said he learnt 99 ways of how not to make light are some introductory thoughts. As an IB Theory of Knowledge teacher, I encourage students to approach knowledge beyond the traditional boundaries of "subject" specialisation. I find that when knowledge is analysed and dissected as a product of collaboration between science, art, history, students can identify as prospective collaborators in a global, interdisciplinary, career community. Class discussions, and the formal assessment (TOK Exhibition and TOK essay) actually require a synthesis of the various areas of knowledge students are taught. The TOK inquiry into 'how we know what we think we know' increases their curiosity and confidence in research and ongoing critical thinking, by-passing the 'storage' approach to knowledge which is static and involves no risks.

Collaborating on interdisciplinary projects at every stage of a budding students career is important to continue to impact at the innovation edge. That edge is where status quo meets expansive creativity & nascent ideas. Everyone brings their strengths & expertise together for birthing new projects or up leveling existing initiatives. this cross collaboration sparks innovation & creates exciting opportunities, not only in somebody’s career, but in new product lines, expanding business development pipelines & growing someone’s network of influence. Even if a student believes that it is not in their wheelhouse, by taking on challenges, they are embracing an abundant mindset, which allows for innovation to become an integral part of their DNA.

It's essential to remember that the term interdisciplinary doesn't just pertain to classes or degrees. You can encourage innovation in career paths by being open to mentoring students who aren't majoring in your subject, and being receptive to students who are majoring in your subject but want or need to pivot. Think broadly about how the work you do and who you know might fit students' career aspirations; share resources and contacts.

In my department, several multidisciplinary courses are offered to the graduate students as part of the upcoming Four Year Under Graduate Programme.

Hoy precisamente estaba alabando a un proyecto que busca solucionar uno de los flajelos más apremiantes de nuestros tiempos: la salud mental de ni?os y jóvenes, precisamente por la multidisciplinariedad infundida al mismo. Un proyecto que partiendo de la praxis de la psiquiatría, buscó en la música y la inteligencia artificial, vías de solución poderosas a esta problemática. Solo cuando exploramos el poder del alineamiento de disciplinas diversas en pos de objetivos comunes, verdaderamente accedemos al poder de las soluciones disruptivas

A mis estudiantes siempre les doy, como marco de referencia para seleccionar problemáticas a atacar, los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible promulgados por las Naciones Unidas. Estas 17 metas le apuntan a problemas vigentes y urgentes que convocan a toda la humanidad para su solución efectiva. Al tener este tipo de marcos, y fundamentar los própósitos de solución en ellos, se logra una fuente de energía inagotable para encontrar los caminos de solución

La academia debe estrezar los lazos entre la teoría y la realidad del mundo laboral. Los programas de internado, en todas sus modalidades, son esenciales para el aprendizaje, ayudar a graduar profesionales diestros y emprender.

Es muy importante que los estudiantes puedan llegar al punto en el que, no solo tengan el conocimiento, sino también que lo puedan aplicar. La metodología Learning by doing debe ser aplicada en todas las materias del ciclo. Los estudiantes, al poder aplicar los conocimientos a casos reales, pueden crear nuevas formas de solución de problemas, basados en aquel conocimiento adquirido. Además, los prepara para situaciones que enfrentarán a lo largo de su vida profesional, entre otras cosas.

Real-world problems can include issues related to sustainability, healthcare access, technological innovation, social justice, and economic inequality, among others. Encouraging students to tackle these problems prepares them for the challenges they may face in their future careers and encourages them to apply their skills and knowledge to make a positive impact on society.

What I’ve found helpful is having students engage in real-life scenarios. This can be a project, a simulation, or in a discussion board. Here’s an example for each. Students can collaborate on a group project to develop a diversity, equity, and inclusion training program. Students can do a simulation in which they have to make a decision as a leader. Finally, students respond to decision based discussion prompts.

Innovation goes hand in hand with an entrepreneurial mindset. At school we should give opportunities to students across grades to innovate and learn. We can allow students to make a new product and sell it during a parent conference . This builds their creativity , curiosity and entrepreneurship. Its transdisciplinary learning and project based learning. Simply put its Learn by Doing

El social learning es, una de las mejores formas de generar conocimiento compartido y cocrear valor. Dicho de otro modo, el aprendizaje colaborativo, fomenta la creatividad y permite a los estudiantes presentar otro tipo de soluciones. Por otro lado, para que esto suceda, debe darse en un ambiente en el que tenga sentido ese aprendizaje colaborativo el "para qué" y que, además, no se limite la creatividad dentro de los equipos.

Créer des espaces de dialogue et de collaboration entre les étudiants et les alumni de la formation permet de prendre en compte, au sein de l'enseignement, les évolutions contemporaines des métiers et des disciplines enseignés, mais aussi de permettre aux anciens étudiants de mieux appréhender les attentes et les usages des nouvelles générations qui arriveront bient?t sur le marché du travail. Cet esprit de communauté permet aussi une bonne insertion professionnelle tout au long de la vie.

Ofrecer becas: ayudar a pagar el costo de la educación y la capacitación continua. Desarrollar asociaciones con empresas y organizaciones: oportunidades de aprendizaje y pasantías. Giving students assignments that are beyond their level yet are linked to what they studied is a way to encourage critical thinking, an important training towards innovative ideas which is what Entrepreneurship spirit aimed to achieve. It's essential to manage expectations of students and not get students too afraid of difficulty in the assignment.

To innovate is to improve something already known or create something new. After an analysis of the reality and needs of the end users, new projects may emerge especially aimed at the social responsibility of the educational institution with the community.
