Here's how you can finish your linguistic work well ahead of deadlines and avoid last-minute rushes.

To plan early, you need an 'early plan'. A goal is not a strategy. The goal is the linguistic research, the strategy is the break downs into little tasks. These tasks sums up to make the whole thing/goal. Goal is what you want to do and strategy is how and when you do it. Strategy is the plan. Plan early!

I usually work backwards. If there’s a deadline I map out who the review process and how long review and edits will take. If it’s a collaborative effort, I will put touch points or working sessions in to give each task a strong focus and deadline.

One thing I've found helpful is to keep your plan straightforward and not to overly complex. While planning is good, many of us could do it the wrong way. For example, you want to right a novel, that's the goal. However, to keep the planning phase of this goal simple and straightforward, you've gotta ask yourself some straightforward question. Like, what element you want to concentrate on to give you the end result of the novel? How do you plan to invest in these elements? Remember, the elements could also include sourcing for external things like some softwares, communication, on-site, researching and reviewing. All of these comes handy in the planning phase. Keeping it simple and straightforward, helps not to confuse you at the end.

One thing I've found useful is using tools, especially the ones that are related to AI. This is time saving and you can even use this to develop a plan. Productive tools such as: Google Keep, trelo among others also help you not to get lost. Avoid procrastinating also and set attainable goals!

Data needs to be organized and if it's not, it can lead to the problems worst than not having data. Dataset saves time and using it significantly means , the time is saving you.

I’m a big fan of colour coding information, or using other formatting to highlight different aspect. I typically like to include a chart or two of all the data I am working with. Often I will use two different charts with the same data on them, expressed differently. this allows me to have perspective on the results.

An example of this is writing a novel where all your data, like characterization, plot, setting and world building, and others, are scattered around your room and you have to scavenge the room each time you want a specific information. One tool I've found helpful in doing most of the organization is excel and Notion. Of course, I know this could differ regarding different workspace, work and those involved.

Consistency is the key to everything. It's not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives. It's what we do consistently. There is always a step small enough from where we are to get us to where we want to be. If we take that small step, there's always another we can take, and eventually a goal thought to be too far to reach becomes achievable.

An example I've seen or experiences is also when writing a novel. Well, this applies to other aspect but I'd like to bring it home, to something relatable. Each time, I suspend my work for a day or two, I lose most of my progress and it sometimes gets to a point of going back to what I've done to read again to refresh myself. And sometime, it brings laziness. After all, when you stop working, it's hard to have the same fervor for the work until you get back on track. So it's always nice to be consistent which would guarantee progress and increase the consistency in delivery.

Consistency is the key. Constant reviews of scopes and planning help you to remember your target. Always look back and if you haven't found any improvement you've got to change something

Feedback is like feeding in the background. It the tool of of measurement of the quality of the goal you have achieved. If a task cannot be measured, it's not a real task. Recall, SMART techniques , the letter "M" here is Measurement. Feedback is really a tool for measurements. I hope the reader understands my point here.

One thing I've found helpful is to have a close circle or community of people whom you can trust so they could give you feedback on your work. This can work by having a discord community where your communication is not spammed with too many irrelevant things. And so it saved time and bring out the best. Of course, the most crucial thing is that there wouldn't be too many people in such community. You could also do it through different channel and communicate individually. However, having a community, like a discord group or channel, you can send it once and communicate how you want things to look like and they response and reaction could be time saving.

I found that to be quite necessary. The seek for continuous improvement must be accompanied by regular feedbacks from higher ups or people with bigger knowledge!

A resource is quality if it yields maximum result. The quality and quantity of a resource can be tracked by the overall efficiency of the project. Take advantage of resources. Think in terms of adequacy and quality. It will save you big time.

One thing I've found helpful is to keep yourself upto date with the recent trend in the industry. It is bad for us to limit ourselves and thoughts. Most people found AI poisonous but that's mostly because of the over dependent and misuse. It is the same with other softwares. There shouldn't be any emotional of moral burden when using any form of assistance or resource. To progress better, we should first make sure we can do these work ourselves before seeking resources. After all, the main reason for resources is to aid us to save time and do more works. However, we shouldn't total depend on resources or allow them to do what we can't even do ourselves. If we use resources properly, it saves time and gives sommething more accurate.
