As per my view, I have divided it into three major points. 1. Understanding and embracing your role and its responsibilities enhances collaboration and project management effectiveness. 2. When others witness your consistent and reliable performance, they are more inclined to appreciate your insights and seek partnership. 3. Agile methodology values each team member as a subject matter expert. This expertise amplifies the significance of your contributions, bolsters your professional standing, and simplifies networking within and beyond your team

In my experience, it involves leveraging your strengths while strategically navigating interactions. 1. Utilization of Digital tools. 2. Building a support network. 3. One-on-one interactions.

One of the Agile principles talks about Simplicity. Following Agile methodology would make you Agile in nature. Once one becomes Agile in nature, one would know the responsibilities that he/she would be having. Simplicity is all about keeping things simple by following the process to deliver on time. When one starts to follow the process, even an introvert would eventually build his network within the team and as well other cross functional teams.

It’s important for professionals to maintain Cross functional communication for a seamless agile environment. Collaborate with team members across the teams for expanding your network within the organization. The agile ceremonies such as scrum of scrums are helpful in building the cross functional collaboration.

I have learned that the power of listening can shape conversations. By focusing on listening, meaning efective listening, you can help and support the speaker by asking your questions and this typically reflects in better leadership skills awareness or it will help you by increasing the respect others have for you.

If you are an introvert person, there's a good chance that you are also really good at listening. From my experience, this is not a very common ability, and can be the key to success in some situations. Since agile environments tend to work better when there are multidisciplinary teams with a variety of opinions, the active listening that you can provide will prove to be a very effective tool to unblock the team and reach agreements.

Offering help can be one of the hardest first steps to take, especially in an environment where it is not the norm. It is easy to get stuck in the zero sum, every person for themselves mentality. Just like in a relay race, the hand off, is key to a good outcome. In most organizations, this space where work overlaps, is a good place to look for opportunities to help. Even if your first 1, 2, 10 offers to help are rejected, it is important not to be discouraged. There is certainly a fine line between helpful and annoying, but continuing to reach out, will lay the foundation for a helping culture.

I think something that might hold an introvert back from offering help is their own personal feelings in their own ability to ask for help. It's beneficial in two ways, the first being that the person who needs help gets it, but the second is that it can let the introvert learn how to ask for help if they need it as well. I know there have been many times in the past where I didn't ask for help simply because of my introverted nature, but as I realized this and practiced it, that changed. When we help, we don't just share immediate solutions, but we both learn how to best help one another and use our unique outlooks on life to provide the best we can.

There is no one way nor a single correct way to ask for feedback and therefore it’s on each individual to make sure they are getting feedback at a time right for them in a manner suited to them. Just as everyone has different communication styles, everybody also has different feedback styles and therefore this also needs to be adapted. I find it useful to let new team know how I like feedback or how I like to provide feedback so we can work it out together. The only thing to remember is that feedback is crucial to growth and this should be welcomed, even if it’s awkward

To embrace all aspects of the Agile process, there needs to be a shepherd in the team. Ideally, it should be the scrum master. But anyone with a management role can take up this responsibility. The job of a shepherd is to push team to follow agile processes until it becomes the new team culture. We have to understand any action becomes habit if it is done continuously for multiple weeks. Embracing Agile does not happen overnight. Somebody has to wear that shepherd cap and bring in the new team culture. Consistency is the key here. Once this is done, all other benefits like reliability and networking will take place as a by-product

I'm both an introvert and someone who suffers from social anxiety, yet I'm in a very social role and have worked extensively in agile environments. "Be the Change You Seek" in establishing accommodations to help yourself and teammates collaborate more fruitfully. Encourage vulnerability and ask everyone to share communication styles and preferences. Try writing and sharing a personal user manual. Ensure you and teammates have room to think. Some teammates will be better off the cuff, others need time to process for thoughtful comments and perspectives. This will help everyone on the team feel valued and heard which will lead to trust and cohesion, and it will make it much easier for various personalities to contribute fully.

In the current hybrid working model, we are also loosing face to face connect. Keeping your video ON for all the calls and encouraging others doing the same will build that trust and faith what an introvert person look forward to at the first place. It will also pull you out of the that zone itself. It will help you network with your colleagues, Scrum Master and Product Owner. Both the parties will find the comfort when people see smiling faces around. If someone going to office and feeling introvert then coffee table is the best place to build the network where if not in group but 1 on 1 can also help.

Expressing yourself in 1-1s is a great option for introverts. Giving constructive feedback in the session creates long lasting impact. Keep some space for learning and experiments in the sprint. Make that transparent to everyone. The learning and sharing gives a lot of confidence to others on your role and they will reach out for help.

Take advantage of written communication, mostly in a remote environment! As an introvert, I often find written communication more comfortable than speaking. And working remotely also enhances this advantage by allowing me to express my thoughts clearly and thoughtfully without the pressure of real-time, in-person interactions. You can engage in discussions on collaborative tools like Slack, Confluence or Jira and it enables you to contribute to conversations and share your ideas at your own pace, which can lead an introvert to build trust and confidence over time.

I’m an introvert and I still am great at the product manager/owner role. At first, being in a position where I had to interact with others all day was draining, but as I got more comfortable with myself and the role I became less so. A key for me was to open myself to learn from others and to not be afraid to be wrong or to fail. By learning from the team, I was able to become a stronger product leader.
