after years in the railway and having seen so much lost time caused by poor VMI documents , I wonder if when the auditors come along they actually look at the VMIs , and if they do , do they understand them . So many things can be resolved by simple comunication and dumbing down of unecesary launguage within a VMI , In short keep it simple . Put your safety conditions in a seperate document and do not repeat the same thing over and over within the VMIs . I wonder if auditors look for such things and if this aspsect of fleet maintenence is fully understood
