During classes, I always have to keep students (adults) busy with searching the information and not giving it to them directly. They must use their mobile phones and work in small groups i.e. couples to flind the information. Or they are required to answer a mini quiz to stay focused every 30min' or so. Then we take deep breaths all together, in a kind of meditation for achivieng a mindful participation in every learning process. This lasts shorter than 1min. but has a remarkable impact to keep their attention focused. Thank you!

So if a person wants to get a promotion then he/she will have to take complex projects to develop and demonstrate his/her critical thinking skills.

I'm a fan of daily reflection, if only for a short time. Noting developments and success is a great way to track progress over time.

We had a regular retrospective meeting at work which inspired me to do the same for myself almost every day.I have one rule before starting: emotions must be regulated. For me swimming is how I get calm which is gold! When we are calm I noticed how much capacity we have to focus and accept what really matters to the product, process and people around us. If we don't pay attention to our mutual essential needs we will pay the price which is lack of trust.

In my experience, taking constructive criticism and acting upon it is also important. When we talk about promotions, we view things from one perspective whilst our hiring manager/concerned individual see it from another. Listening to feedback and acting upon it is a great way to exhibit professionalism and understanding of what is required of you. Promoters don’t just see whether you can get the job done- they also want to know how good you will be once you are promoted to a position where you need to exhibit more soft skills.

Putting your learning and learned knowledge demonstratively speaks volume. Being demonstrative requires identifying the key required skills, undergoing trainings and putting efforts to reflect them as part of your everyday working culture. This way, various skill-sets would be learned and embedded in the work routine.
