At an earlier stage of my career, I drafted the first need assessment to my huge hotel employees who were over 1300, I divided it into 3 levels and decided to utilize one-one meeting approach with each departmental leader and may include his/her assistance along with assigned departmental trainer to be all aligned and before going to the meeting I analyzed departmental Personal development plans and last year end of year review to build on them as a valuable resources that will enable us to draft together adequate plans and utilizing Human capital as a valuable resources without any bias and align on same direction for Hotel, department, individual goals including leadership involvement

1.Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest trends, job market dynamics, and industry requirements. Attend workshops, seminars, and courses to improve your knowledge base. 2.Understand Client Needs: Develop strong listening skills to understand your clients' aspirations, strengths, weaknesses, and concerns. Ask probing questions to clarify their goals and motivations. 3.Assessment Tools: Use career assessment tools and personality tests to gain insights into your clients' aptitudes, interests, and values. This data can guide your decision-making process.

One thing I find useful while doing need analysis for my clients is to listen patiently and ask open ended questions and not me early conclusion to reach the root of the actual challenge client is facing.

When I started in my position as a people leader I was challenged with a team that was overworked and under appreciated. They had no motivation to put in any extra effort as it wasn't being recognized by leadership. My opportunity was clear; I had to determine a path to fixing this issue. The plan started with creating process documentation to ensure everyone was doing the same work efforts and getting the same results. Next I had to determine what I had to offer and since I wasn't in a position to increase pay I needed something else. I eventually settled on career coaching for my employees, which meant also being ok with them leaving my team. This introduced a whole new problem for me to tackle; simplifying onboarding and training.

When I started to look at the entire process of being a people leader and what I had to offer I had to reflect on what I missed out on and wished that I had when I was in earlier positions. I never had a mentor for my career and I set out to be that for each of my employees. I created a spreadsheet and started tracking 6mo, 1yr, 5yr and 10yr goals for my team and added notes on what they could do to achieve it and what I could do to help them. The 6mo and 1yr goals were considered, "What do you want to do". The 5yr and 10yr goals were considered, "Where do you want to be". I ask everyone to make these career goals SMART and to consider that they might change them during the course of the time we're tracking them.

I personally journal after each session and also ask my clients what worked well and what didn't. This practice helps me evaluate my coaching interventions. Additionally, supervision offer a safe space to unpack my thinking and refine my practice with the guidance of a coach supervisor. Not to mention that it is also required for coaches to be fully accredited. From experience, I strongly believe journaling and supervision are two valuable ways to ehance the decision making skills of a career coach.

Reflecting on each session by asking, 'What went right? What could have been better? What can I do differently?' proves invaluable. This approach aligns each session more closely with the overarching theme. After applying learnings fromthese reflections, I've found subsequent sessions to be significantly more effective.

I have devised a comprehensive questionnaire and distribute amongst my colleagues at after the end of coaching and facilitation sessions to gain their valuable feedback. I do not impose any deadline to fill up the questionnaire. Furthermore, I also receive creative inputs via email. I could fathom that some participants posess more experience than me, however, I take the opportunity to learn from their inputs and emails, which allows me to improve my knowledge and skills in the subject matter. I try to imbibe some innovative management approaches with an element of "Surprise". Reflecting on your work brings the joy of learning. I always believe that my best is yet to come.

When I first started as a career coach, I learned quickly that one of the best ways to improve my own processes was to incorporate feedback from actual customers. I’d highly recommend that coaches design a feedback framework into their program or approach. Give people time to submit feedback either directly or indirectly. Your clients can help improve your business more than you might realize.

It seems to me that among all the valid points mentioned, there is no mention of working on ourselves as "sensitive beings." Since, as other colleagues have pointed out, it is not the coach who makes decisions but the coachee, I believe that continuous work on our inner balance is essential, so that the "guidance in decision-making" is imbued with the necessary focus and emotional intelligence.

No two clients are same.
