While sharing emotional stories about how your social interventions have transformed lives is essential, presenting these stories with accurate facts and figures adds substantial credibility. For instance, instead of vaguely stating that "a large number of people benefited from our CSR initiatives," specifying that "XX,XXX people benefited from our CSR initiatives" is much more meaningful and authentic. Furthermore, including a graph that depicts the average increase in income among these beneficiaries takes your story to the next level, making it truly impactful.

Its really important keep asking open simple questions to get to root causes - and checking to ensure you have removed as many assumptions as possible.

Be careful about collecting extra information and being overwhelmed with too much data. I have never seen a data collection form that did not include some “question hoarding”. Everyone tends to add extra questions - partly to cover all bases and partly because it is a resource intensive exercise to collect info so “while we are here let’s ask these other things that we are interested in”. Be really rigourous in checking your forms, scripts and survey tools to eliminate as much of this as you can before you actually start asking. Watch out for “noise” in your data. The best way is to keep asking how this question or line of questioning will help me answer my key objectives.
