At the moment we only do have lots of disease data - which is great, but to enhance health in our patients we also need to collect more health data. We need to understand how data from healthy people look like, which trends and patterns happens there - to make the right deductions from "disease data" :)

1. RPM use has grown dramatically, most devices have not been validated. Care should be taken when making clinical decisions on data from non-validated devices. 2. Little evidence shows RPM devices improve clinical outcomes. Over the past 10 years, RPM in heart failure does not show a change in hospital readmissions nor mortality. 3. Most RPM devices provide asynchronous information to the provider. Data comes in (with or without notification of an alert) and the provider has to then review and find the patients with concerning results. A recent heart failure study by Asch (JAMA 2022) demonstrated the RPM generate 3,736 provider alerts about weight gain changes. 2,451 of these alerts never had a provider response written in the EHR.
