Communication is a key. Even more important now as people are working remotely. With this, everybody is looking at a medium if communication that is fast, easy to understand and manage, have multiple features like individual msgng, group chat etc so that communication becomes easier and clearly understandable. We us Microsoft Teams extensively for all official purpose and Wats App extensively for all not so formal communication. Both the platforms are very easy to use and highly user friendly.

In my opinion and work experience MS Teams provides all features needed for good team collaboration. You can create groups with specific projects, chat discussions individually or with the entire group; create files for easy reference and updates; link additional resources; and add comments or questions to the group or an individual. Bottom line is that you need to use a platform that is conducive to the virtual world we live/work in. Even if your company is in the office, using the right platform will provide collaboration, time-management and reach all employees.
