In my experience, onboarding goals is very importance for new hired because we can shaped them into our working environment and culture. When we manage and prepare proper onboarding process and set clear probation guideline to our new employee. It means that they can connect and know about what they have to do in their probation period such as task and responsibilities, team structure company vision and mission, rule and regulation and HR policy and process. So onboarding goals is really importance and we need to have standard guideline and clear process as well.

It's funny how many game developers don't realize that the very skills they've learned to engage their players also pertain to their team members. Just like a video game, your team wants to move along their own mastery curve. They want to be challenged in incremental bursts, and they want to have rest periods, where things are a little boring. Consider your team members as players, and build for them an engaging and satisfying skill progression. What can they practice, and how can they grow? How can you challenge them, reward them for overcoming challenges, and then also give them rest from these periods? Applying game design principles works remarkably well on teams, and big companies like Amazon and Facebook do this all the time.
