The new generation of employees often questions why they are doing the tasks assigned to them. As a leader, helping them understand the "why" behind their daily routine can shift their mindset, fostering trust in the process and increasing confidence in their roles. A runner cannot keep running unless he knows of the finish line of this lap and similarly an employee cannot just keep working unless they know the direction of the finish line atleast and also know what is the prize money, achievement or goal of this collective team race that all the employees of a company are in.

Every member of an organization should know the company's "why." Why do they do what they do? What's the motivation behind their purpose? How can everyone work towards that purpose? Knowing and embracing the purpose in everything you do as an organization fosters team commitment, engagement, and enthusiasm.

As Humans, we are habitual to feedback and hence we should know whether positive or negative updates about any org which can help fuel our passion and work. Sometimes even negative but honest updates tend to motivate the employees more so that they can hurdle more. This is an important lesson of leadership I have learnt in my career.

This is an important emotional touch point with your employees which can make them passionate about their work. A personal connection with special social events should be organized every quarter and leadership in any org should be invested to know each employee personally and their ambitions.

Generally our company goals are decided with the commence of financial year. But our long term and short term goals/ it's planning are published in Vision document with clearly maintioned target and schedule. But personal interaction on regular intervals will team members/ employees are must for assessing ground level feeling about goals. If we allow participative culture in organisation than each employee will take ownership and feel proud on completion.

In our weekly staff meetings we allow our members of staff to share with us how the goal of Excellent Financial Reporting is reasonating with them. Excellent Financial Reporting varies from client to client and sharing these compositions of what it entails to excellently report is always illuminating; Some of the enlightening matters include but not limited to the following; 1. Communicating progress of the work being done. 2. Scheduling meetings with options on availability of the client. 3. Getting to meetings on time 4. Short meetings but straight to the point. 5. Close the accounts without taking too much time.

Recognition and awards are the part of same feedback loop I talked which is very important for the collective growth of any org. The award doesn’t have to be monetary but a memento and a recognition amongst the team. One caveat is that we should ensure that everyone gets an equal opportunity and no single person should get the award always.

Leaders should keep open and effective communication to team in order to achieve better team. results. I emphasize here the necessity to - make every employee ro feel important part of the plan - help intermediate leaders to cascade goals for every company department and therefore commit team members on clear goals These fragmented goals must build the castle, I mean, the company ambitious goals. Simple to say and difficult to implement, because in real world very common to see gaps on this objectives cascading. But it’s possible to be achieved and worth the effort. Ask external support if necessary but do not allow disconnected goals across the organization.

When employees understand how their work contributes to a bigger picture, they are more likely to be engaged and productive. The vision statement should ignite a spark in them. Make it clear, concise and aspirational. Explaining the reasoning behind the goals & vision, encouraging questions and providing feedback- fosters trust and understanding. Leading by example and sharing success stories helps reinforce the desired behaviours.
