Passion is the classical element that prevents any project from rapidly withering away from existence. As might be expected, many other relevant elements are to be taken into consideration, especially within business context. At the end of the day, people do stuff for other people, and passion is the fuel you don’t want to miss. Leaders must encourage that at all costs.

Encourage your team members to truly immerse themselves in the latest cutting-edge CSR practises that have real value vs 'green-washing' ones that simply make it 'appear' as if your company cares but don't have a significant - if any - impact on improving the lives of people or the planet.

Don't just set clear, achievable goals but add those into the way you evaluate team members performance against these KPIs and include them in your decisions about bonuses and other compensation rather than just giving them a 'pat on the back'. Make these integral to your core business.
