When I was setting up a new supply chain, my team went out to each of the supply points and met with their leadership. We had coffee with them and got to know them. A few weeks later when we were working on optimizing the supply chain, we needed to make some adjustments to the process. My team was able to call each supply point to explain our challenge. Because of our pre-established relationship it was easy. They were ready to hear why we needed to adjust, and we were ready to receive how they wanted to make the changes. We were able create a win-win situation and build upon our relationship.
