Here's how you can effectively set and achieve team goals.

As we know that; team goals are the milestones, accomplishments and outcomes that a group of individuals collectively strives to achieve. The first step in effectively setting team goals is to figure out what your short-term and long-term objectives are.Team goals are an essential part of leading your team to success—as long as they are clear, effective, organised and realistic. Within the context of the team goals, each employee can formulate their own plans for bettering themselves in a way that contributes to the overall success of the main goal. Moving forward, i think to develop, effectively set & achieve on team goals is to use the SMART framework. 'SMART' stands for specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound practices.

In my experience setting goal is very important for team to work on and get motivated. Goals has to breakdown to department level, individual level from the company level goals. This can be done by using Hoshin Kanri tool. Goal must be SMART, realistic, achievable. Clear communication and participation of employees while setting the goal will key to the success of achieving goals. Team must be guided with clear step by step milestones to achieve Goal. Once goals are set need to identify projects to achieve goals. Periodic review of the project status will help the support the team in achieving the goals. At end reward and recognition is important for achieving Goals

I've found that when team members are able to participate in the definition of the goals its very powerful. Its empowering to engage them in the conversation about what we're trying to accomplish and why. I've been surprised at some of the insights my teams have offered and in some cases uncovered a rationale to set our sights higher than originally intended. Once goal setting is done with a genuine intention to push ourselves but also set our teams up for success, its a winning strategy. You can't beat the engagement that results from goals developed by the team themselves.

In my experience, it is also important at this stage to address possible resistance and monitor for any signs of disengagement from team members. Address any concerns or objections promptly and openly. An open dialogue and feedback can help. Otherwise, the team can sabotage the goals and nobody will see the progress or results in the future.

He sets example of every successful action with motivates and inspires the team under to navigate the assigned task successfully and accomplish the tasks/goals expected out of him.

The things I have found helpful is 1.Be AWARE of teams' strengths & weaknesses. 2.Show them the big picture which helps them look AHEAD. They need to understand their goal alignment with the Business vision & have the PURPOSE. 3.INVOLVE them in goal setting, help them pick short term goals, if that liberty cannot be given to pick their goals then help them break their goals to small achievable SMART GOALS. 4.Coach them to TRACK the progress and REFLECT & improve 5.Provide candid FEEDBACK on an interim basis & enable them for course correction. 6.MOTIVATE them on small wins with simple rewards 7.REPRIMAND also when required. 8.Be a COACH & show them how to lead their own path to success 9.Be GENUINELY HAPPY on their achievement of goals.
