Here's how you can effectively mediate conflicts between teachers and administrators.

Like I had said in my earlier article that conflicts are due to SUPER EGOs, so there is NO STANDARD procedure for resolution of conflicts. one can start with following procedure 1. Listen to both parties separately and assure them that there is reality in their points to CERTAIN EXTENT but somewhere there is a scope for them to retrieve. 2. Negotiate WHICH points they are willing to HOLD and willing to backout separately 3. Discuss with both parties separately and TELL them that you are able to make the other party take back the points and are adamant on which points 4. repeat point no. 3 more number of times till they sober down 5. Bring them on one table and finalize the acceptance of points to be hold and points to be backout

The key to listening first/active listening is to let the person talk until they are truly finished talking. Allow them to speak uninterrupted. Then, repeat back to them a summarization of of what they said. If they tell you that what you said is wrong, change it until they agree that you "got it." Then, let the other person have a turn. Often, this is all that's needed. If clarity and agreement doesn't come from this, then you move onto the next step.

Keep your personal views, biases or pre notions aside, when you are mediating conflicts between teachers and administrators. Listen actively to comprehend the reasons for disagreement. Provide equal opportunities to each party to articulate their views and issues without any interruption. This will clear misunderstandings and enhance understanding, which is essential for a harmonious and conducive environment.

Try to have the difficult conversation and work on resolving it at the earliest. Despite the pile of other work that you may have, consider it a priority to resolve conflicts because this defines the work culture.
