You should do a parts and supply list and inventory what you have on hand so you can order all your parts & supplies to ensure they are available when you need them. It is the most frustrating thing to be mid project only to be told they have no supplies or parts to continue. To have to halt production to go get the parts needed and see about ordering what is missing is unacceptable. That is or should be that team’s number one task to complete before all else There should be a main order placed with supplemental orders as needed before they run out completely.

One thing I’ve found helpful is to complete as much of a project as possible up front, especially those with long lead times. You can complete other, less time consuming tasks while waiting for others to get done. Such as starting a permit application process and then completing items that don’t require the same approvals while waiting for those approvals.
