For me application compatibility with existing technology landscape is important. Having variety of application landscapes covering heterogeneous framework is not a great idea. Post implementation for every application sustainability and maintenance plays pivotal role. Having homogeneous technology stack helps you to save cost. Having similar types of applications developed on different platforms is not a good idea. I suggest using cloud services for flexibility, scalability and security.

If you are considering new technology, consider compatibility. Analyze how well it integrates with your existing software, infrastructure, and workflows. Avoid options that require extensive modifications unless they provide substantial benefits. With seamless integration, your team is more efficient and productive, as it minimizes disruptions and streamlines the transition.

If you don't, you will fail. It is never an option to not consider Compatibility. Things change quickly. You can not change everything daily. How else would you be able to keep up?

Essentially it should be stable and sound financially. Sometimes larger enterprises go with the option of “code escrow” to cover this risk. That almost never works. You almost never get the latest code and making the code work is a huge project in itself.

Research and identify potential technology solutions that meet the project requirements and consider feedbacks. 3. Understand the skillset of the team. 4. Making sure stakeholders are in agreement as there are chance of failure as well and any try and error is a cost to a company.
