Clarity of the goals is a MUST. Unless we as leaders are not clear to what is needed as an end result, don't expect the same result later. Clarity to the core on the outcome expected. Clear communication to reduce any misunderstanding

Finally, prioritize succession planning - identify potential high-potential individuals, provide targeted development opportunities, and create a proactive plan for seamless transitions.

Clarity and importance of deadlines is must. When addressing to the team a leader should be able to provide deadlines with clarity and why is it important to adhere to the deadline must be conveyed. If possible relating it to the companies status quo helps.

Deadlines are the result of breaking down a larger project into smaller, specific objectives. By setting a deadline, those in charge of that project define each step necessary to accomplish their goals

Timelines are the next step required. Each team member should participate in this exercise. And important point is to adhere to the same

Deadlines are essential because they increase the sense of urgency to get a job done. Without some positive stress (eustress), it's easier to get distracted or put tasks off.

Provide information as soon as possible to give your team members ample time to plan and execute their tasks effectively. AND Use Multiple Communication Channels: People have different preferences when it comes to communication. Within the timelines there should be a check-in process to ensure we are moving at the right direction, any roadblocks we should address and fix it

Regular updates are imperative for success. I like to place "milestones" along the way for key deliverables or places where the outcome could be in jeopardy if not completed. To do this you have to have some idea of the output you want. Regular daily, weekly, monthly engagements and communication should always happen. Choose the best timeline and platform for your team. I found that planning backwards helps me maintain my timeline because it is focused on the goal. Just my opinion.

Celebrate achievements and progress made by the team, and address any challenges or obstacles that may affect the project timeline. Encourage team members to provide feedback on the update process and suggest any improvements

It's crucial to strike a balance between keeping your team focused and avoiding micromanagement. Recognising this distinction is key. Constantly hovering over people isn't necessary. The secret lies in periodic check-ins to ensure everyone is meeting expectations. Even a brief coffee chat can suffice, where you inquire about progress towards goals and the feasibility of deadlines. Moreover, using tools for 1:1 meetings and feedback sharing can streamline communication. This not only ensures alignment and addresses concerns but also demonstrates your investment in your team's work and willingness to engage in meaningful discussions about it.

Encourage Questions and Clarifications: Create an environment where team members feel comfortable asking questions and seeking clarifications. This helps prevent misunderstandings and ensures that everyone is on the same page. AND Provide Resources and Support: Make sure that your team members have access to the resources and support they need to meet their deadlines. Reflecting is an important aspect of continuous improvement and development. It is vital that you conduct AARs (After Action Reviews) with your team members to document what went well and what can be improved, not only on the process or project, but also to include how your team members felt about understanding what was expected of them, what resources or tools they struggled with, and their overall experience in managing the deadlines and their workload. This provides a comprehensive evaluation of where you can improve as a team and how to manage each team member better, as it is essential to reflect on what you can do better as a leader to improve your leadership and communication skills and adjust accordingly.

At regular intervals, the team reflects on how to become more effective, then tunes and adjusts its behaviour accordingly. The reflective meetings are often referred to as retrospectives.
