And opportunities come through people. Hence, one of my favorite quotes: “Opportunities do not float like clouds in the sky. They’re attached to people. If you’re looking for an opportunity, you’re really looking for a person.” Start by letting trusted members of your current network know about your plans. You never know who might be able to connect you with someone in your desired field. Also, make an extra effort to connect with people who have changed careers. What we at times overlook is the importance of daily habits that consistently over a period of time, take us towards our greater goals. So especially when you are embarking on your best half of your career, ensure that you set balanced goals, ones that make you feel fulfilled personally and professionally. To achieve them, stay focused on the bigger picture, as the only inevitable way to succeed is to be your own cheerleader, even when you cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel.
