Not only are networking events great for getting in front of potential contacts and clients, but you can also form close connections with your peers, who will one day be the future CEO’s and CDO’s in our business. I love volunteering through ICSC because it’s gotten my name out there plus I’ve gotten amazing relationships and leads from my ever-expanding network.

Alignment with the organization/organizations that best fit your skill sets is step number one. There are many great orgs out there that just don't align with what I do or who I am. Once aligned...just joining the org isn't all you need to do if you want to grow your knowledge, your network, your leadership skills, etc. Now you need to be ACTIVELY involved. Growing your career via any organization is a contact sport...it doesn't just happen by belonging. I have learned more, met more people, developed better leadership skills, learned more about my industry, from my active membership in industry organizations than I have from all other vehicles combined.

It's always a good idea to volunteer with the CRE organizations in your market, especially when you are new to the business. Not only you will make valuable connections with other professionals that you will be working on deals with, but you will learn from some of the best in the business. I was fortunate enough to meet people who are still in my circle who have been confidants and mentors.

Getting involved with local real estate groups is a smart move, especially if you're just starting out. It's a great way to meet other pros who you'll be doing business with. Plus, you get to learn from the top dogs in the industry. I've been lucky to meet folks through volunteering who have become my go-to advisors and friends.

Sin duda la experiencia que puedes adquirir en este tipo de organizaciones, es invaluable, lo puedes ver fríamente como una especie de escuela del mundo real ya fuera del mundo académico, donde además de aprender, también ganarás, económicamente y mejor aún con bastante experiencia que podrás desarrollar en cualquier panorama fuera de esta y que podrás abrir un sin fin de nuevas y buenas puertas.

Faite cette action, cette estimation, cette discussion avec le client… Chaque opportunité de rendez-vous est un entra?nement de soit comme les sportifs de haut-niveau ou bien l’intelligence artificielle s’entra?nent. Dix fois, cent fois, mille fois. Vous passez un cap à chaque fois. On dit qu’il faut 10 ans dans un domaine pour réellement être un expert. Avec de l’acharnement et des capacités, on passe à 3 ans.

En mi opinión y experiencia, tienes que conocer perfectamente tu mercado, ya que de este deriva el éxito de un proyecto inmobiliario, o en su defecto la venta de cualquier inmueble, así como conocer perfectamente el costo y presupuesto del mismo con todos los gastos, si es desarrollo, el costo financiero, costo de licencias y permisos, proyecto ejecutivo, costo de construcción, comisiones por venta, y tiempo de recuperación de la inversión. si es venta de un inmueble, el pago de impuestos por venta, comisión por venta inmobiliaria, conocer los beneficios que cuentas por ley a la hr. de vender o comprar un inmueble

I have heard many people say this, and I have found it to be true: one of the best ways to learn a skill is to teach a class (anything from a one hour course or something longer and more involved, such as a community college or university course). CRE groups such as CREW, ULI and NAIOP offer many classes at a local and national level. They are always looking for people to put programs together and to speak. Do both!

One should always hunt for opportunities to showcase your existing skills as well as getting an opportunity to learn more. Various volunteering events can act as a launchpad to develop more and new skills.
