Many times throughout my career I've asked the same question, "Does that make sense?" If not, reword your point you're trying to get across. Because we all come from all different walks of life our ways of understanding is affected by the way our filter has been built while growing up. Some may assume the worst while your speaking and not even hear the truth in your words. Be patient and reword to build clarity.

The follow up is as important, if not more than the initiating conversation. How you follow up detremines the depth of that relationship. It's like going on a first date and not calling them back. Expressing your enjoyment will probably get a second date. The same applies here with following up on a proposal. If you don't, you won't know which parts were unclear, or overpriced, or not even a concern. Proposal reviews are essential so you can address those questions and as for action steps once again. This furthers the relationship and keeps the prospect close.
