The FIRST thing to know about Real Estate; is that Property Economics is in its infancy! It is still one of the most BASIC industries to get into. The Brains Trust has never rushed into property! It is the most DYSFUNCTIONAL industry in the world; look at the spectacular BOOM BUST events across the World and it is nothing new! Japan late 1980s, UK, Australia, early 2000s UK; late 2000s USA (spectacular; a whole residential market fell to 62.0% of previous levels); Australian REITs weighted to Retail fell to 35.0% of previous levels 2008 - 2010; China (Evergrande Country Garden etc.). Australia with our residential market hugely subsidized. Our Retail is a complete shambles. There is great opportunity for more brains and expertise!

Work hard. When that is not enough work harder. Learn and keep learning. Use your skills and knowledge to solve difficult problems. Seek guidance from trusted professionals who can help guide you through challenging situations. Take time to analyze the facts and figure ways to mitigate risk. Stay focused and updated on market conditions. Know when to say no. Resolve conflicts and reach agreements amicably. Tomorrow is a new day with different circumstances.

Just spent 2 days at AREC on the Gold Coast Australia. It took time and resources to be able to take time out and get a valuable download. It was so worth it. Seeing Ryan Serhant in person and hearing is back story was priceless. Listening to Ryan Reynolds speaking and sharing his heart about his journey also priceless. Take the time out and you will reap the results.

In my experience learning from the mistakes of others is obviously better than learlearning from your own. Therefore I think it’s important to follow deals from the beginning to the end. From the initial purchase including to have much leverage was put on it to its final sale.

CREM is a business support role, in the sense that usuallY the core activity of the firm is not related to real estate. Considering this, it is very important to understand business needs and set realistic expectations in the start of every project or every fiscal year (if we talk portfolio KPIs). Even if only supporting core business activities, the leading role in CREM projects target setting must stay within the CREM team.

Goals need to be specific ,measurable , achievable , realistic and time bound.Important is that goals need to be visualised and to put on paper with time bound. If you conceive you can achieve %wise it can be here there. So set goals don't worry about the fruits.

Think of your CRE work as being similar to a baseball hitter. Nobody hits the ball every time. Strive for a good “batting average” by learning what works and why. Constantly study changes in the real estate and financial markets that will interact with your current and future deals.

As in life, there are no guarantees in real estate. You always have to be prepared for the “ unexpected.”True success in this business, comes with a lot of sacrifice. You have to be truly dedicated. Things are going to always crop up when you own several holdings. Communication & organization is key, in mastering things efficiently. Finding solutions through focus, not fear, will lead you to the path of perseverance. Above all, don’t feed into the negative energy. “This too shall pass.”

I once saw a Facebook post in a group for the VP of a multi-billion (yes a "B") venture capital firm and he spent an hour on the phone with me after a polite request for a conversation. It was a catalyst in my returning to investing after a tragically bad experience. Having the audacity to act in spite of your fear is the best networking skill you could learn. Be respectful, be intelligent with something engaging to compel the interaction. Pique their interest with some niche knowledge that is pertinent to the other party. Be appreciative, asking questions and clarifying acronyms, technical terms, and processes, policies, and procedures you are unfamiliar with. Be prepared not to waste anyone's time. Remember time is a valuable gift.

Luego de cada operación exitosa o fallida intento pensar en el proceso, desde el inicio hasta el fin de la misma. De esta manera puedo ver aquellas cosas que puedo mejorar para en un futuro poder dar una mejor respuesta o acortar un tiempo de negociación. En aquellos casos de éxito, es importante estar atento a la satisfacción de nuestro cliente y continuar en contacto con él luego de la operación, establecer un vínculo que en el futuro puede ser un beneficio mutuo.

Reflecting and adapting is another way of sharpening the saw. You can often learn more from looking back at what went wrong in a deal, but continuing to refine and improve on areas of high-performing execution can make future deals better as well. Both metrics can increase success levels.

Reflection needs to be started at every step you take towards developing the future of the development or deal. Learn and practise to learn from mistakes which can be done only once you start self realisation.

I completely agree! Even when a sale seems to go perfect or unfortunately wrong, you should take the time to reflect and new ways or strategies to improve the next opportunity. Real estate demands and requirements are constantly changing, so taking the time to reflect is vital to stay current and remain ahead of the competition to stay competitive!

Often failure is a matter of perspective and how a question is framed. If one believes that they have done their very best , examined all the options and risks mitigating them along the way then if the outcome is not what was expected that ?failure ?? is actually an opportunity to learn and grow ( I e a success ). It’s also important to properly define success. In ski racing only three of say 30 racers will podium and success might mean firstly being in the race and slowly making one’s way up the rankings , learning and building resilience along the way. It’s also never really a successful strategy to have a win -lose mindset long term. A win win strategy will build relationships and goodwill that will come pay dividends.

There is no failure in life just learning experiences. Besides, in life we come here to go. It's just temporary so you might as well embrace it be bold, and do your best. Look at your fears and ask yourself "what is the worst thing that could possibly happen? " Once you acknowledge and accept that, nothing else will seem like a problem. Fear should never be something that holds you back. Just use it to motivate you and work harder.
