If you’re unsure about something, don’t hesitate to ask questions to your peers, seniors and mentors are there to help. Utilize resources like textbooks, online courses, and documentation to deepen your understanding. 'Consistent practice' and 'seeking help when needed' will set you up for success. Stay curious and keep pushing forward!

I feel one common challenge all of us interns face is the difference in working with same technology in a personal and work environment. Remember that we are at our Learning Phase during our internship and that is our Prime Takeaway. Talk to professionals and seek help. They may give valuable advice to you on coping up, even in matters other than the subject. This will make a lot of sense when you realize they most probably have seen or faced a similar situation before which shaped their professional Life. So keep Learning and Networking in this period.

I think it is important to try to relate the study of computer engineering to real life events, identifying hardware devices and components that can carry out your desired activities, and knowing a programming language to connect, control and automate these various components. It’s best to start from the known and build on it. For me, I learnt it all haphazardly, picking up knowledge of each as i walk the path and then having to piece it all together. It’s best to have a mentor who can help you identify the stages of learning to become a computer engineer. In summary; 1. Get a mentor. 2. know your hardware components and how they relate, interface and interact with the real world. 3. Learn a programming language. 4. Improve continuously

To state the obvious: To be an intern is quite equivalent to being a student but in a different setting. Some things I'd have the interns keep in mind would be the following: (1) Expect failure, don't fear it but also don't chase after it -- it expedites learning. (2) Ask for clarity and requirements -- more than half of the tasks you are given would probably be "unclear". Don't be afraid to ask questions, it is very much welcomed and expected. (3) Take notes. Much like in university, documentation is critical -- whether it be your handwritten notes, Notion, Slack, or something else. Keep some notes with you as it'll help in various cases (meetings, unexpected project expectations, etc.) Lastly, have fun! It is a learning experience!

Coding is essential in computer engineering. As an intern, you'll write, review, and debug code. Begin by understanding the codebase and version control systems like Git. Practice with small programs or open-source contributions. Don't get discouraged by bugs; debugging is a key skill that improves with practice. Use print statements or debugging tools to find and fix issues in your code.

Coding for me was one of the hardest things to learn. It was an entirely new world for me till i was able to break it down into bits. Just like learning to speak a new language, i was able to understand it better using these tips; 1. identify little words in that language. 2. Understand the syntax and semantics, more like how to connect the words to make a sentence. 3. Learn complex words and improve from sentences to essays. With consistent practice, it becomes easy to write longer lines of codes, debug errors from different scripts/codes and perfect your coding skills

As an intern, it is very important to be on trend so as not to be left of in the ever dynamic world of computer engineering. Know the basics and the foundational knowledge on which knew innovations are built upon, then grow with the invention an innovation process. It’s a never ending cycle and like they say “if you snooze, you lose”.
