Measuring progress keeps them on course and each win needs to be celebratd to keep them motivated.

I have a learner who joined the training at the compulsory request of her line manager. Consequently, she couldn't improve anything because she never answered the questions during the training, no self-reflection after learning sessions (she was presented for attendance purposes only). There is no doubt that reflection allows individuals to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and their practical application in real-world scenarios. Without self-reflection, people can not assess their strengths, weaknesses, values, and motivations; as a result, any coaching/ training will go to be useless.

Consrtuctive, specific and Forward feedback and not just "you are good in this..." ... "The way you are doing this particularly.....proves you are mastering it, and what needed is to add ....."... Sometimes brainstorming can give more prospectives..

Thinking clearly and logically is one part of the process. But sometimes it is our mind that can hold us back from pursuing what we really want and need to thrive, or put differently, pursuing our dreams. So any process of coaching someone in making changes or decisions about their career should provide them with an opportunity to access what other parts of themselves - their heart, their body, for example - feel and want. That might sound strange to some of you, but believe me, you are not only a brain or a mind. So exercises and techniques that enable the coachee to drop into these parts of themselves as well, will serve them well and give them access to a more rounded way forward.
