If your goal is high resolution, good quality results with little learning curve, buy a Matterport Pro 2 camera and subscribe to their cloud platform and pump out nice interior shots, great for real estate and venue space marketing. If your goal is 360 outdoor photography for Google Maps, action, or average real estate listings, a point and shoot option is the Insta360 RS One Inch with decent resolution and better sharpness and detail than most high end consumer products. If you want the utmost quality, detail and resolution for top professional use, a standard high end dslr or mirrorless camera with an ultra wide fisheye lens and special 360 pano head is stil by far the best approach. More work but way better results for static 360s.

You can capture unique perspectives using 360-degree cameras by understanding the structure of the view you plan to focus on. You should also be skilled enough to know how to operate the 360-degree camera. You can learn this from YouTube or any physical workshops.

What i have observed is that movement with 360 camera seem a bit tricky and the best way to do it is with monopods . Monopods help cover good perspectives.

Having control of your lighting, and ensuring where possible that the light hitting different lenses is similar. Otherwise you will get obvious seems. Also, and the best thing to consider, is make sure you have somewhere to hide yourself and kit- unlike traditional photography all angles are visible, and its easy to include yourself or cast shadows that distract from your work.

I would suggest considering the location, subject and ideal viewing interface (web, VR, etc) as step one, with equipment in latter steps. Answering these questions dictates the type of 360 capture gear you'll want to use. Answer the what, where and why before the how. Eg: "I want to shoot fpv action: you're probably not setting up a big 6-8 cam multi rig, and instead you'll opt for the action 360 cams like Insta360 X4 or RS One Inch". "I want to capture the immense natural beauty of a canyon for VR viewing": Top shelf dslr and fisheye lens with a pano head with lateral offset are your weapons of choice. With the right shooting technique, lateral offset will enable stereoscopic "3D" photography from a standard, non 3D camera.

You'll need to set aside all you've learned for traditional photography composition. Think of yourself as the camera capturing the world a) in front of and b) around you, rather than an external camera capturing a subject. The experience of immersion is what you're after. Some 360 cameras are designed to have distance - they fail to remove seems if there is anything too close to them- generally the more lenses/sensors the more this becomes and issue - the payoff is higher resolution. Choose the right equipment for the right job.
