In my experience, building professional relationships in the public speaking industry requires active engagement and genuine connection. Attend industry conferences, workshops, and networking events to meet fellow speakers and professionals. Offer to collaborate on projects or share expertise through guest speaking opportunities. Nurture relationships by staying in touch, providing support, and seeking opportunities for mutual growth and collaboration.

Public speaking is a great way to connect with people and build your professional network. Make impactful presentations, people will be more likely to want to connect with you if they are impressed by your skills. Let your personality shine through and be someone people want to talk to after your speech. Mingle with attendees at events. Join professional associations. Leverage social media (LinkedIn, Instagram, X, etc.) Be professional and reliable. Look for ways to collaborate with other speakers. After you connect with someone, send a follow-up email or connect on LinkedIn. Stay in touch and continue to build the relationship.

If you would like to learn something new everyday, stay opened and pay more attention to the present time. Please don't spend your time with listening music or games during walking, running and biking. Firstly, staying on the present moment will help you to be safer. And then, you can enjoy the present moment (blue sky, flower blossom and playful kids) and it will reduce your stress and overthinking. Nothing last forever, therefore please grasp your breath with your nearby.

While online presence is extremely useful for networking, conferences, events, and workshops continue to be great ways for fostering genuine human connections. I continuously collaborate with colleagues I met in conferences over two decades ago. If you're lucky, you may also find a couple of good friendships along the way.

Attend and engage. Offer your perspective and questions. Be willing to learn. If you don’t agree still be respectful. Thank others for what they offer.

One of the best feelings is when people come up to you after a talk to say they enjoyed it. I try to do just that when I enjoyed someone else's presentation. Some folks avoid events if they aren't speaking.
