Reflect on your previous lackings, avoid self-pity and instead find a idea that truly makes you move. With that you can develop and learn at the same time. It is essential to aim at the greatest level you can reach, while not pushing yourself so hard that lack of self-esteem prevents you from getting anywhere - again, balance is the answer. It is recommended you mentally prepare yourself for failures, trial and error once you have already began working, as otherwise it can lead you into doubt and even depression from where it is hard to take further initiative. Be sure to set aside negatives from positives.

Try not to take negative feedback personally and be prepared for both positive and negative variants of the same. This is a important prerequisite to keep in mind before jumping into requesting any feedback as it helps to avoid drama and encourages rationality. Open your mind to all feedback, but remember who is the artist, you, you architect the choices whether individual feedback is listened to or not! Otherwise, I suggest checking critiquer profile and noticing their level of experience, types of work they do, to evaluate the credibility - this will naturally also help you make a more educated guess on who to listen to and who not to. In any case be respectful to others and respect their personal opinions even if you disagree.

3D modeling is all about experimenting, you may have done everything right, but if you chose unappealing experiments to get somewhere, this could make a difference and lose you work opportunities. There are set up guidelines across the modeling workflows, but in any case, expanding your dominance with out-of-the-ordinary experiments will at the very least establish your art style.

To my suprise, throughout the years since I started 3D Modelling, I keep uncovering better and better workflow. And it is true, that those times when I updated my workflow, it comes from the feeling that I can do better, and trying to innovate more. It is definitely worth investing time in to update your preferred workflow if things started to get dull!
