I am of the opinion that displaying your genuine self at work, without the need for a facade during challenging moments, and showing genuine care for your team members, is sufficient to accomplish tasks effectively. By engaging in honest communication with your coworkers on a daily basis, your words and actions will exhibit consistency. It is only through this consistency in your words and actions that you can motivate and empower others, allowing them the freedom to express themselves fully.

I believe that bringing your true authentic self to work, without the need for a mask when dealing with difficult situations, combined with genuine concern for your team members, is enough to get the job done. When daily communication with your colleagues is based on honesty, your words and actions gain consistency. Only with consistency in what you say and do can you inspire others and give them the necessary space to express themselves.

Insights from Effective Processing Often feedback is neglected due to incorrect processing or understanding. If we see feedback as information rather than criticism, we can use it more effectively. Taking time to process feedback is helpful, but by separating it's value from our emotional response, we can benefit greatly. Sheila Heen's research taught me to always express gratitude for feedback, even if I don't like it. Saying "Thanks for the feedback" without getting defensive encourages more honest input in future. By doing this we foster a culture of growth and improvement.
