The trust can be built only by ensuring that you always give honest advice whether it favourable to customer or not. And that can happen if you always limit yourself to those areas of consulting where you can really challenge any one else on your domain expertise. But, how do you earn that type of trust of customers? The answer to that is, go deep into whatever domain you excel, keep yourself updated on what innovations are happening in that domain, and build the capability to apply your domain knowledge to advise on what the customer needs (not necessarily what the customer wants!).

This quick journal can be planned in time slots for how the day should progress. Time, being a non-renewable resource, requires each day to be planned so that one is clear about its aims. Without such clarity, one cannot plan the day well or prioritize tasks effectively. A good plan is equivalent to half execution, and one must give their best in the planning phase. Time plays a key role in this, as one must be aware of the time required for each effort initiated. Mind your time, as it's not money; it is life. Time is life.

Address emails as you get them. I have been doing this for years and my inboxes have zero unread emails. Mark important emails with flags so you can address them, and keep this list at the top so you can work through them daily. Create follow up tasks on your calender and make it realistic. If you don’t have time, be honest and pick a time that works for you and your clients.

you cannot handle everything, in the long run. You need to design and come up with new services. that needs thinking and working overtime. Imagine hiring an assistant and let the routine handle by him. delegate. while hiring, set the framework for jobs, expectations.

One thing I’ve found helpful is to identify what your superpowers are, focus on those, and find other superstars to delegate to. It’s a great way to get the best out of everyone and make real progress.

Delegation of tasks needs a great understanding of the capabilities and effort need to perform it. This would enable to analyse and map the tasks with people matching those skills.

Focus on your strengths. Don't try to master what you're not good at. Outsourcing and asking for help shows your leadership. It also protects you from burning out and the notion we need to be 'perfect at everything' in order to succeed.

At times we just need to be a middle agent than being sole creator, assort such tasks and outsource them effectively and try to improvise the outsourced version. This enables us as a self-employed to work in multiple projects at a time.

I made a rule for myself- you get 5 minutes to feel sorry for yourself and then move on. You can’t let an L ruin your day/week/month. It does you zero good. When working for someone else you had that luxury, not anymore. Also create a network of people you rely on and can call anytime to give you a lift. People who are in your corner. Take a walk, get a pet, you’ll need them as much as they need you and it gives you something bigger to focus on and reset your mindset. You don’t. There is no formula that guarantees success or tenure. What will happen, is the more engagements you endure, the highest the success ratio will become. So give it time, enjoy the journey of finding or fulfilling your purpose and embrace that there are no true answers to any variance of equations. Ultimately what you want is to build is trust and real relationships, the outcome of engagements will build a more solid instinct that will direct you in asserted results. I'd like to add two more things to the list and they are; have a plan and write things down. 1.) Have a plan: Before you approach a prospect for a job, have a plan for what you'll say (especially your offering and delivery). When you get the job, have a plan for how you'll deliver it, in line with what you committed to. This way, you know what you're doing, how you're doing it, and a practical time frame within which to do it in. 2 ) Write things down: This is so that you don't forget who and what you've commited to. It's also important for the sake of organisation and to protect yourself. You can do this the old fashioned way with pen and paper or you can tap away on an app of your choosing.
