Here's how you can amplify your creative skills as a musician.

La música es un lenguaje y como tal, el proceso de aprendizaje requiere continuidad y paciencia. Los resultados nunca son inmediatos, así que es necesario un poco de fe también. Para mí la clave esta en disfrutar del camino, del estudio diario, de los peque?os progresos. No compararse continuamente y centrarse en uno mismo creo que es un punto importante también. No tomar el instrumento como un fin en si mismo sino como un medio, un instrumento, para comunicar o expresar. La práctica puede ser un tormento o un momento de disfrute; depende de tu manera de afrontarlo.

Practice regularly, master basics, and take lessons to improve technical skills and knowledge. I truly believe in work on the fundamentals all the time.

Pablo Picasso once said, “Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working.” This is true for any creative work. If you want to tap into your creativity and find inspiration, it won’t come to you if you just sit around and wait. You have to get to work and make it a regular habit to play, exercise, and explore, even on days when you don’t really feel like it. Something new and unexpected is always there waiting to be discovered. You just have to get up and make that regular effort even if some days the results are not as great as you would like.

As a classically trained musician, high-quality performance requires hours and hours of preparation—until you can play the piece completely from memory, even if someone woke you up in the middle of the night. This slow, hard work is undoubtedly the biggest part of the effort you must be willing to invest in the music. But what comes after that? Can you reach a state of flow and become the music rather than just play the music on stage?

Keeping yourself tied to a specific genre is restrictive for your own creativity and it can make your horizon more narrow. Allow yourself to explore and experiment with different styles and techniques, and look around far and wide for inspiration and collaborations. My personal opinion is, if they don’t know how to label or categorise your creative output, you know you’re doing something right.

I have always loved exploring new genres of music and experimenting with different ways of making music beyond what I grew up with. However, as a perfectionist, it’s challenging to accept a less-than-perfect rendition and play something "similar" to a genre. I always try to get back to the basics: The fundamental training for most instruments hasn't changed in the last 200 years—and neither have we as humans.

Can we as musicians exist without collaboration? Even when performing completely solo as an acoustic musician, there is still a collaboration between you and the place, or you and the audience.

Also Meditation is very important when it comes to creativity. Rest and reflection is important to maintain a healthy body and mind. Adding meditation to the equation adds in the spiritual aspect of the holistic spectrum. I personally have been practicing Tai Chi for around nine years and every time i feel as if i press the reset button on my anxieties and my worries. That is essential to be creative. Creativity cannot survive where there is fear and anxiety. Which seems to be more common all over the world these days and throughout history.
