Look into your company, their history, big plans they have for the future, and how you can be apart of that mission. Understanding where an organization started, their lifespan, and their current goals, prepares you for what they have in store for you at an interview, as well as how your time will be with said company if you are chosen for the role. Understanding their tools, what demographics they serve, and how your previous knowledge can serve the role you are applying for. An initiative to take time to learn and familiarize yourself will show passion, and interest in the role, as well Company itself.

Read your resume before going into an interview. Print it out. Open it in another tab if you are virtually interviewing. It's your resume, don't be afraid to construct a cheat sheet for yourself overtime. As life rolls along, sometimes it can be hard to remember specific highlights of a role, and it can be a good refresher to have something to revisit over time.

Your resume is a key part of your professional story, so be ready to discuss any detail listed. Whether it's a project or a specific tool, be prepared to talk about it in depth. When you mention a programming language or technology, you should be able to provide examples of how you've used it, highlighting your problem-solving skills and technical expertise. When considering yourself in a Team setting, it's about understanding strengths, faults, capabilities, and at times emotional vulnerabilities. When I work in a team, I take note of how each of my immediate team members work, their quirks, and their strengths. I try to meet them on their playing field, and put any ego aside, as often beginning collaboration can be about finding ideas through someone else, and working backwards (or forwards) to a bigger picture. This is often how I work with non-technical members of a Team. I want to show respect for their knowledge, and not put them down when they don't understand, jargon or lingo. Meet them on their field. Work to figure out their knowledge, and help fill in the gaps from there.

While your technical skills are crucial, don't overlook the importance of soft skills in IT consulting. Strong communication, teamwork, and adaptability are highly valued. Be ready to discuss specific instances where you worked effectively within a team or managed conflicts. Share examples that highlight your ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical colleagues. Demonstrating these skills can make you stand out from other candidates with similar technical abilities.

OF COURSE soft skills matter!!! But apart from myself, who has implemented internal training courses, I know very few cases. Neither companies nor universities teach them on a large scale. How did you resolve a conflict? Raise your hand if you were trained in conflict resolution techniques? I LOVE THIS SURVEY!!! It's as absurd as the prevailing mediocre management.

Ask the questions you want to know! I'll give you some of my winners, for IT Support and SAAS Support: Ask about how each Product a company offer works together? How do those teams work together? Ask about CRM platforms, ticketing systems, and other tools used to maintain information. Ask about platforms such as AWS and Azure? Are they both used in said environment, how are they used, are they used in your role? Ask about previous iterations of the Product you'll be supporting? Ask about previous projects, future projects, and offer insight to how your skills can helps. Demonstrate a level of interest, a willingness to learn, and a little bit of your personality in the questions you ask.

Of course!!! Some examples could be: In sprint planning, do they only include tasks that are ready to plan? Do the salespeople define the scope and deadline? Do you have the necessary resources for each project?
