A grantor may need you to be registered on their site. For Federal grants you need SAM registration which is a longer process and some times require the Grantee to open tickets to resolve issues with the registration process. It is also helpful to visit the FAQ page for the opportunity to understand issues other Grantees have faced and the resolutions posted. Complete all institutional information requirement much prior to the deadline so you understand all the data you need to collect prior to completing the application. Check if a mandatory concept paper is required. If it is required, submit it in a timely manner otherwise you will not be eligible to apply. Use the reviews as a guidance to improve your application.

At that last minute of submission and you encounter similar situation, the funder's support team may not be able to respond back to you. What it means is that you won't be able to submit your proposal.

It is common for online grant application platforms to crash the day before, or on the day of the deadline. The platforms frequently crash when uploads from multiple applicants are occurring simultaneously. For this reason, do not wait until the last day to submit your grant proposal! Consider creating an internal submission deadline at least 3 days in advance of the actual. Funders are more likely to make accommodations if you contact them for help in advance of the deadline.
