This is my shortest answer to-date. Yes, I have constant short-term disruptions. From any number of internal and external sources. Fortunately I am effective and efficient at adjusting my tasks ‘on the fly’ (thanks to the Outlook calendar) - all day, every day.

Excellent points on navigating disruptions! Communication, prioritization, and positivity are indeed crucial when facing unexpected challenges. I'd add that fostering a culture of adaptability can also make a huge difference. Encouraging team members to voice their ideas during disruptions can lead to innovative solutions and a stronger sense of ownership.

Short term interruptions or long term? Hire Smart People-Empower them-Get out of their way. My friend Peter opened 4 large manufacturing plants in 7.5 years. Each had unique customers, products and processes. I once asked , “ How on earth did you accomplish that task ?” Peter shared this idea. “ Make sure the first person you hire is smarter than you, let him follow this theme and build a great team. When the time comes, the opportunity to leave .. you drop the keys and go” Your Team is already running the place and won’t miss you. Hire Smart People Empower them and get out of their way !
