As someone , who has personally experienced this. Sometime it’s easier to just let them speak. And once they are done start with “I agree with what you said, and I would like to add on/on the contrary I feel” This way, you are acknowledging their contribution and also keeping your point strongly.

A person dominating the discussions all the time is also part of once habit. At times using our disengaged body language after a while during the meeting sends your signal of non acceptance of the patterned behaviour without any verbal exchange before or after.

I’ve noticed that some people tend to speak louder and out of turn, regardless of the situation. It's their way of asserting their relevance, often driven by insecurity. There's little you can do about such behavior except wait for your turn and say what you need to. Regardless, there’s always something to be learned from what someone is saying.

Para cerrar, los invito a que cuando estemos en el grupo general se animen a decir la idea buenísima que se les ocurrió.

I would agree addressing members in private is a good approach, but can be taken as someone being singled out which may cause other issues. If I were to address someone in private about their communication skills I would also let them know I have 1:1s with every team member and like to promote their strengths and address any areas of improvement.

perhaps following an agenda that is strictly time monitored around a person only having 4 mins to speak, and having it monitored by another dominant team member allowing others the opportunity for their input through being asked for their valuable perspective, around the table. also, sending the agenda prior to the meeting and asking attendees if they will need to speak on the matter and then allocating extended time.for these other members at the meeting. interaction of all "like-minded" team.members, who are all focused on achieving a particular goal would be most beneficial.

Here is my favorite way to address moderation in meetings: If I have a staff member who is creating too great of an imbalance in the dialogue, I’ll ask them to do me a favor and document the speaker and durations. One way or another, you’ll gain valuable insight simply by giving your team member a positive, proactive metrics tool. It’s clear, but minimally confrontational. You can ask privately or openly depending on team culture and what’s appropriate to the context. And you now have data to work with taken in their own hand.

As the leader, actively manage the flow of conversation, redirecting it when necessary to ensure all members have a chance to contribute.
