These are the tasks that can't be left for when you have time because not doing them can have serious negative consequences. For this method, use the following priority levels: critical, high priority, neutral, low priority, unknown.

One thing I have found helpful is to understand the competing needs of the stakeholder. Their priorities are often split among many areas of responsibility. When you tap into the communication style and timing that works for both you and the stakeholder, it allows the project to run more smoothly. Historically, this has made a big impact in not only ensuring efficiency to respect time (and those competing priorities), but it also mitigates risks and changes or roadblocks, keeps the project focused on the true needs of the company, and allows for focused time for review. Efficiency is something most sr leaders appreciate.
